Experience Matters
With 30 years of experience in the music business and 3 Gold Records, my clientele has run the gamut from Rock and Roll to Heavy Metal to R&B to House Music to Country Western to Commercial Recording. This includes major label artists such as Janet Jackson, INSX, Taylor Dane, Movie Soundtracks, and HGTV. My credits include serving as the mix specialist for 32 major-label projects.
Jeff Luif
Jeff Luif was born April 27, 1961 at Roseland Community Hospital on Chicago’s south side and spent his high school years attending Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Illinois, where he excelled at basketball and baseball.
At age 15, Jeff picked up his first guitar. At 17, Jeff formed his first band, Ice Water Mansion (1978-1979). In 1979, the band name changed to Phantom (1979-1983). In 1983, Jeff auditioned for and won a spot with long-time Chicago favorites M&R Rush as a singer/guitar player. He and the band are still actively touring and recording.
It was in 1983 when Jeff, along with his brother George, a skilled recording engineer, and father joined forces to open Star Trax Recording. It didn’t take long for Star Trax to build up a strong client list and become one of the most successful recording studios in the Chicagoland area.
